Oil & Gas Matters

Our oil and gas division was founded by Robert N. Hart in 1991.  Hart is a graduate petroleum engineer and brings over 35 years of technical, operational, and managerial experience with both large and small natural gas companies involved in exploration, production, underground gas storage, marketing, and appraising. 

HartPetro has provided consulting and appraising services to a wide cross section of clients including: well and royalty owners, oil and gas companies, attorneys, bank trust departments, accounting firms, coal companies, and other consulting firms.  Robert Hart is highly regarded as one of the leading oil and gas appraisers in the Appalachian region.  His unique experience comes from multiple decades of working in the oil and gas industry and from his specialized training in the oil and gas industry's appraising approaches to fair market value and eminent domain principles.

Hart is a graduate of the School of Mines of West Virginia University where he earned a B.S. degree in petroleum engineering.  He has earned additional certificates from the University of Michigan, the University of Tulsa, and H. K. Van Poolen & Associates.  He is a graduate of Gustavson & Associates' prestigious School of Oil and Gas Appraising and the US DOT's Eminent Domain Training for Attorneys and Appraisers.

Hart is a registered professional engineer in West Virginia and holds the Certified Minerals Appraisers Designation (CMA) by the American Institute of Minerals Appraiser.
